January 30, 2009...more pictures of our kids

Things are going pretty well in the Tomaszewski household. Helena seems to be feeling fine, but she continues to have a cough, which means she is still contagious according to our pediatrician. She thinks using hand sanitizer, "clean", is fun so we don't have to worry about her spreading her little germies around.

Sebastian is still in the calm, sleeping, sweet baby stage and I am thankful. We were already having to bounce Helena by this point. He just falls asleep when he's tired, which is something Miss Helena Claire has never done. My biggest challenge is getting him to stay awake to eat a full meal. Not too bad...but I am preparing myself that this may just be the calm before the storm.

I caught a BIG yawn and a streeeeetch!

I think that's a hint of a smile on Mr. Sebastian's face. He's dreaming of chi chi!

Helena's first words when we open her door in the morning are, "baby, baby!" So...after a diaper change, getting dressed, and doing her hair she gets to see what brother is doing. She really wants to help him with his "passy"...I'm not sure how long we're going to be able to hold her off!

Sweet baby boy sleeping!

Helena also likes to give Sebastian "five". Daddy is helping Sebastian so he doesn't get clobbered by his well-intentioned sister. This is right before bedtime, after they both have been bathed so Helena was deemed "clean enough" to sit on the bed with him.

Helena LOVES to copy us...carry a purse, drink from a straw, put trash in the trash can, and work on the "puter". Look at that face...she knows how cute she is!!!

Sweet baby sleeping, again.

Daddy loves to talk to Sebastian. It looks like they're staring into each other's eyes, doesn't it?

Another big yawn...

How cute is this fussy baby? He really doesn't fuss much, thankfully!

1/21/2009 Sebastian Edward Tomaszewski is here!!!

Our new addition...Sebastian Edward Tomaszewski.

Sebastian was born at 7:42 am on Wednesday, January 21st, 2009. He weighed 8 pounds 3.6 ounces and was 21 1/4 inches long! He has quite a bit of blonde hair and so far is a quiet, sleeping baby (we are prepared for the fact that this may be the calm before the storm). He is eating well, but has to be encouraged (read: undressed, tickled, and wiggled) to wake up for meals. Daddy is so proud and Mommy is feeling well. Unfortunately, baby Helena has croup and so she has not been able to get as close to him as she would like. She stared at him in the nursery for at least 15 minutes, repeating, "baby baby". When Mommy held Sebastian for the first time baby Helena wanted to crawl onto Mommy's lap and touch him; sadly we couldn't let her. We're hoping she will heal quickly and be able to "explore" her little brother sooner than later!

Sebastian's favorite thing to do...snuggle with Daddy.

Momma lovin' on her little man.

Sebastian loves his Oma!

Having lots of fun with Aunty Christy.

Aunty Con Con is a good snuggler too!

Denise and Shawn came to meet Sebastian...Shawn was a little nervous but did a fantastic job holding Sebastian and of course Denise is a pro!

Such a sweet sweet baby!

Eyes open and wide awake!

Look at the monkey toes...he gets them from his Momma! He's a long boy!

All swaddled and sleeping peacefully at home!

Sebastian will join us on Wednesday, January 21st

I want to apologize for not posting more frequently, but life has gotten just a little hectic! We moved into our new house right before Christmas and bless Michael's heart, he has been working non-stop on getting it ready in time for Sebastian's arrival on Wednesday, the 21st. We are close to being ready, I think...

Here are some pictures to catch you up on the Helena and what she's been up to!

She loves to "bouncy bouncy" on pretty much anything she can find to sit on!

She also LOVES to swing at the park! We get lots of BIG smiles and "wheeeeee"s when she's swinging!

When visiting Daddy at the fire station one of her favorite things to do is "drive" the fire engine.

Here's a family picture of us...including Sebastian's baby bump.

Helena got a 'Hello Kitty' purse from Oma and Opa for Christmas. She loves to put it over her shoulder and walk around...one way she is able to keep it from falling off of her shoulder is to put her finger in her ear!!!

'Leny is quite the Daddy's girl...this is before "night night" in her new room...decorating to be continued.

With the holidays came lots of time with family....

Helena and cousin Audrey both got horseys on a stick...here they are moments after opening their presents.

Auntie Con Con is good at entertaining these two...Audrey and Helena are popping bubbles--with their mouths!!!

Helena and cousin AddyAnn got to go visit Santa while we were in Chattanooga the weekend before Christmas.

We hope you all are enjoying the beginning of 2009. Please stay tuned as pictures of Sebastian's arrival will likely be the next post!!!
